Pizza and a DVD

Tonight we did something so utterly normal but because of the context, it felt decadent. Daniel brought home take away pizza for dinner (and the restaurant even home delivers)! It was so lovely to eat a veggie pizza while we watched a DVD. Ahhh, a taste of normality.

The DVD wasn’t that great but it had its funny moments. Daniel thought that the main female character was a lot like me which was hilarious because she wore her hair tied in a pigtail but to one side of her head which unbeknownst to him, is exactly how I used to wear my hair as a young teenager in the early 1980s!
The film was called Napolean Dynamite. During the week we also watched the German film, The Edukators which turned out to be a bit disappointing. The characters were supposedly idealists but their actions spoke of nothing but anarchy (self-indulgent anarchy at that) and I just couldn’t identify with any of them. However, it was stylishly filmed and had some beautiful German country scenery. The best DVD of the week hands down was Big Fish which we both thought was just wonderful. It was a whimsical but also very human drama. It told the story of a man who had the most amazing imagination and how his fanciful stories created problems with his relationship with his son. By the end of the film we were both sobbing. You must watch this film!
